Revivre warmly congratulates Guy Latraverse for his leadership in mental health and his nomination by the Center for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) as one of Canada's 150 Canadian Leaders for Mental Health, an initiative for Canada’s 150th anniversary (see here).

Earlier this year, CAMH launched a cross-Canada call for nominations of people influencing change in this area and giving us new reasons for hope. More than 3,700 nominations were submitted. Selected individuals in Quebec were unveiled on November 13, 2017, including Guy Latraverse.

Often referred to as the godfather of Quebec show business, Guy cumulates nominations (Order of Canada, National Order of Quebec, Félix Career Award from the ADISQ, Gémeau Career Award). This time, his admirable contribution to mental health is highlighted, including his 26 years of engagement with Revivre and his leading role in demystifying mental illness. Guy was one of the first public figures to talk openly about his mental illness. He led various initiatives, including provincial rounds and mental health TV shows and documentary, to explain that everyone could live with a mental health disorder, but that everyone could also aspire to recovery and a fulfilling life.

Guy has been on Revivre’s board for 26 years, including 22 years as Chairman.

Thank you Guy for your continuous involvement towards Revivre and mental health. You are a true source of inspiration and hope!

An event will be held on November 15, 2017 in Montreal to highlight these nominations, with more than 200 attendees, including the media.
